Storm Damage Repair Work
Storm Damage Repair Work
Project Number: F2023-01
During the last major storm event several roads were impacted by the heavy rains. The staff have been taking an inventory of the major areas that need to be addressed to preform dig outs of various sections of streets. The work will consist of "dig-outs". A dig-out refers to the process of removing existing asphalt pavement, or sections of it, to remove and replacing the underlying base and sub-base materials. It's used when the pavement has failed in certain areas, such as when the support materials have disintegrated or lost their ability to carry a load. Proper excavation and replacement are crucial to ensuring the longevity and safety of the repaired asphalt surface.
